The Vision of South Point

Our Vision at South Point is to be a church that is relevant, that actively makes a difference in people’s lives, a church that reaches out to meet people at the point of their needs, a church that faithfully teaches the Word of God and a church where every member is active in worship, ministry and witnessing.

Our Story

South Point Church started in the living room of the founding pastors Joel & Belle Arteaga as a home bible study group with one other family in attendance for about a year. At this point we had no idea that God was actually calling and preparing us to plant a new church.  By the second year our group had transitioned into a cell group with several more families attending and participating in our group activities. We continued to grow as a group and started to reach out to the community through events like fall festival, Christmas toys giveaway, Back to school, etc.

As the time passed it became very clear to us the God was leading us and our group to form a new church in the south side of San Antonio. After many months of reflection, prayer, outreach, assessment, training and big dreams we had our first worship service in the spring of 2013 with several new families joining our newly formed church. At the moment we are having our pre-view worship services in preparation to publicly launch South Point Church A/G.

What can I expect when attending South Point Church?

You will find that we are strategically located at the corner of S Flores and White St. We have ample parking space for all our members and our visitors. You will be greeted at the entrance of our Church building. Once inside you will find that we are a church with a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our service starts at approximately 3:30 p.m. We begin with a time of praise and worship, we continue with an uplifting and empowering sermon, immediately after we offer a time to respond to God's Word in a time of prayer and reflection. We often have refreshments and or snacks after service finishes to spend time in fellowship and getting to know each other in a relaxing atmosphere.
